Abdul, son of MKO, claims Kola Abiola is unfit for presidency, failing to uphold his father’s legacy
Abdul, one of the sons of the late MKO Abiola, said his older brother, Kola, is not capable of leading Nigeria.
Abdul made this comment during an interview on the podcast show Mic On.
He criticized Kola for not handling their father’s business empire well.
Kola ran for president in 2023 with the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
Abdul expressed disappointment in Kola’s failure to uphold their father’s political legacy and keep the family united.
Abdul said, “If Kola had been in a better position, he could have upheld MKO Abiola’s legacy and promoted democratic values, but he chose not to.
“When our father was in jail, Kola was occupied with other things. It’s unfortunate, but at least our father didn’t have to see this.
“I’m disappointed in Kola, and so are many Nigerians. You can see how few people voted for him in the presidential election.
“I wondered how he thought he could be president when he couldn’t manage Abiola’s empire. How will he manage Nigeria?
“This is the issue in Nigeria: people don’t show competence in their own work but want higher positions.”
