Kwankwaso vows to oppose state of emergency in Kano

Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has promised to fight against any attempt to declare a state of emergency in Kano. He accused the federal government of making Kano unsafe by keeping heavy security around the deposed Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

Kwankwaso spoke about the situation during an event in his hometown, Madobi, where he launched the construction of rural roads. He said the people of Kano will not let anyone undermine the state’s authority.

“We have many supporters because people trust us. We care about the people and the NNPP administration is dedicated to serving them,” he said.

He also mentioned that as politicians, they will not stand by and let enemies destroy the peace in Kano. He supports the governor and is glad the governor stays focused on his goals.

Kwankwaso claimed that some people from Kano, who he called enemies of the state, are advising the federal government to take over Kano through a State of Emergency. He said the people of Kano will resist this.

He added that some politicians are trying to cause problems as the 2027 elections approach, but he would rather both sides lose than let them win unfairly.

“We challenge anyone who thinks they can victimize us politically. We are ready to fight,” he said. “We are not afraid of losing power because we will still be politicians, in or out of government. We will fight for what is right for us.”

Kwankwaso also said the federal government is listening to unpatriotic politicians from Kano, which will only lead to failure. He promised that the people of Kano will resist any attempts to undermine the governor’s authority.

“We are open to discussions and reconciliation, but we will not accept any intimidation or political harassment,” Kwankwaso said. “We know how to play politics and we will protect ourselves from any harm.”
