Chelsea to clash with Man City in the opening weekend of the Premier League 2024-25 season.
Manchester City will start their attempt for a fifth straight Premier League title by playing against Chelsea, who are now managed by Pep Guardiola’s former assistant Enzo Maresca.
The schedule released on Tuesday shows the current champions will play at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 18, to open the 2024-25 season.
Pep Guardiola’s team made history by winning their fourth consecutive Premier League title on the last day of the 2023-24 season.
They have been the dominant team recently, winning six of the last seven titles.
Ipswich is back in the Premier League after 22 years and will face a tough challenge against a revamped Liverpool team, now without former manager Jurgen Klopp.
Another newcomer, Leicester, will play Tottenham Hotspur and start a new era without Enzo Maresca, who is now at Chelsea on a five-year contract.
